A Call to Fervent Prayer

The Need of the Hour is Fervent Prayer

This is a pivotal hour in the dealings of God both for the maturing of His beloved Bride as well as for preparing the harvest among the nations which He is bringing in. It is one of those times when our response or lack thereof could be a hinge that opens the floodgates of grace or sets us back for another season. How will we respond? Will we continue with business as usual or will we attune our ears to what the Holy Spirit is saying and arise to take our place in vibrant and faithful prayer and intercession?

The nations of the world are presently undergoing great shaking and change. The so-called “Arab Spring” has dramatically changed the dynamics in many Middle Eastern nations. The economic shakings are provoking fear and panic in many corners of the world. Famines are common as well as unprecedented floods. Poverty is rampant and the divide between rich and poor continues to widen.

In addition, the spirit of the age continues to grip believing hearts around the world causing many to forsake right living and action. Compromise and growing tolerance of that which Christ calls wicked is rampant. The line of demarcation revealing true believers versus nominal believers is becoming dim. We need an awakening that shakes us from our slumber and empowers us to align with the Holy Spirit in this critical moment!

The Holy Spirit is speaking to those with listening ears to give diligent attention to developing the following components within our lives and ministries:

  1. Returning to our first love of Jesus Christ and keeping first things first

  2. Embracing suffering and persecution for the sake of Christ

  3. Preserving the Truth of God’s Word and not tolerating its compromise at any cost

  4. Growing in holiness and maintaining high standards of morality

  5. Forsaking reputation of being spiritual and pursuing the reality of pleasing God

  6. Faithfully engaging in the global opportunity He has opened among the unengaged, unreached people groups

  7. Leaving complacency behind and growing in commitment to a wholehearted, passionate following of Christ, embracing the role of the Person of the Holy Spirit.

The student generation is faced today with a strategic opportunity to face these issues head on – Uniting together in the spirit of committed prayer and intercession for 21 Days from many nations, ministry backgrounds and campuses globally. All for the unified purpose of standing in fervent prayer for God to move in power among His global Bride preparing her to become all that He intends her to be to reach the mighty harvest to come as well as breaking up the fallow spiritual ground among the unengaged, unreached through prayer.

21 Days For Global Harvest is a prayer campaign to catalyze our student communities in small groups of prayer for focused and deliberate intercession from October 2-22, 2011. Our goal is to see 2,000 prayer groups from 50 nations praying by name for students from 21 nations to be mobilized and for the 1,015 unengaged, unreached people groups during these 21 days.
